MisFit For A Night

DA TRUTH at the MISFIT Concert

On Saturday, I had another great night serving with Fearless Entertainment (@Fearless_Ent) at the MisFit concert in Detroit. The MisFit concert featured MALI MUSIC, spoken word by ORAIA, gospel rap pioneers DA TRUTH & THE AMBASSADOR, plus B REITH up & coming singer SEAN SIMMONDS. The show host Pastor CHRIS DURSO who is the author of the MISFIT book was there as well.

Again I had a wonderful experience serving. It was a different feel and vibe but still great. The most important thing is seeing people work together to take music back for the Kingdom of God. I really enjoyed hearing AMBASSADOR talk about how he had a deeper revelation and understanding of the fact that God not only saves, but that He brings the Christian back, again and again and again . . . God doesn’t abandon us and He loves us even when we mess up.

I love the title of the tour: MISFIT . . . It just reminds me of how compared to the way the world does things, Christians do not fit in because we choose to live by God’s laws and standards. I thought it was so appropriate and that it spoke volumes.

Side note: I met Derek Luke (the actor who played Antoine Fisher) at the concert! I was talking to a very fashionable lady, who I believe was his wife, and I noticed him next to her. The convo went something like this:

Me: “Hi, did you play on Antoine Fisher?”
Him: “I did.”
Me: “I thought that was you! I didn’t want to stare at you and look weird!”
Him: Chuckling “That’s ok”
Me: In my fan voice . . . “Can I shake your hand?”

I was able to shake his hand and he was so humble and kind. I was really impressed. He was a misfit too that night!

Thanks to my good friend Kimberly (great stylist & relationship coach @Kimberlytina), I was able to get a few pictures from the night. Until I get a new phone, I’m stuck borrowing photos. Well, I definitely cannot wait to for next year’s events with Fearless Entertainment! I’m already excited!

They Don’t Know About Us

Tonight was my first time volunteering at a concert, and let me tell you…the experience was amazing. I volunteered to serve with Fearless Entertainment (@Fearless_Ent) for the #ManUpDetroit Concert & Movie Ft. Lecrae (@lecrae).  Attendees were able to see the Man Up short film, listen to a panel discussion on the film (where the artists were on the panel), and then hear a full concert afterwards. It was on point! The other artists besides Lecrae were: Trip Lee (@TripLee116), PRo (@mynameisPRo), Tedashii (@Tedashii), KB, Sho Baraka, DJ Official and Andy Mine0 “formerly known as C-lite.  The concert was held at Second Ebenezer Church in Detroit MI.

I had an awesome time volunteering with Fearless Entertainment! Not only were they professional, they were a great group of people to work with! I would recommend for anyone to volunteer if you had the time. I had fun, even in the moments where I couldn’t be in the main aditorium because I had to attend to my duties. It is a different feeling when you are on the other end making sure that attendees are having an overall great experience. Don’t worry, I was able to go into the concert and hear some songs and connect with some great people!

My favorite parts of the night were: volunteering with my friends (we have fun together), eating during break time (that food was the answer lol), seeing and connecting with some Twitter friends, hearing my song “Dum Dum” – Tedashii (ft Lecrae) [*break* They don’t know about us!! *break*], and hearing my FAVORITE song “Background” – Lecrae (ft C-Lite). There’s nothing like a concert feel. I also was able to meet someone while I was serving who I could possibly do business with in the future; I love those connections.

I had such a good time I want to go back for more! For those of you who don’t want to miss out on the next one, here are some details for you:
